• Since its creation in 1901 the Syndicat National des Antiquaires (National Dealers Association) has striven to defend the antique dealers profession and promote the art market by organizing exhibitions such as the Paris Biennale des Antiquaires and the Salon du Collectionneur.
• Reflecting its determination to offer collectors and the public objects and works of art of exceptional quality. All of which passed a draconian screening by a committee of experts to insure authenticity.
• It comprises landmark pieces by the leading factories, artists, craftsmen and creators in every field, ranging from cabinet-making and precious metalwork to glass and contemporary design. The museum is the only institution in the world able to pay tribute to all the illustrious names who have forged the history of French style and taste: Boulle, Sèvres, Aubusson, Christofle, Lalique, Guimard, Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier, Perriand, Szekely… to name but a few. Every period and movement is represented, from Gothic to Louis XVI and from Directoire to Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Design.
